This might well be the last "shout out" prior to the Reunion weekend festivities. The locations of the events are:
This Reunion is not only an anniversary of graduating from Peabody, but also a reunion for most of us of our elementary schools. We will have photographers to document the gatherings of these institutions. Don't be shy. Mix and mingle. The event is designed to be flowing so you should not feel "anchored" to any particular table. There will be 32 tables set up in the Grand Hall; enough for eveyone to sit down. Two bars will be open throughout the evening to quench your thirst. The menu can be reviewed by reviewing the past information link at the bottom of this announcement. There will be enough grub for seconds and thirds, if necessary. Rosalyn Ryave Richman recently passed on the following link that discusses attending 50th High School Reunions that I'm sharing with you. Click Here. A new page will open.. Also Michael Hoffman recently shared his picture archive from Sunnyside Elementary. Click "Misc Pictures" along the left hand banner to view them. Remember the attire is "business casual" so don't show up in a suit complete with a tie or you'll run the risk of being sent home by the Principle to change. Same if you come attired in Bermuda Shorts or Bib-Overalls. Although for some that might be "Business Casual." Your Reunion Committe has planned and organized a truly fun evening complete with delicious foods, spirits, song and dance, "photo experiences," and great memories. All we ask is for you to drop any pretenses and return to the 60s and enjoy the evening with friends from long ago and rekindle new friendships along the way. Keep checking back for further updates. Also along the lefthand side you'll find a link for "Song Request Link." Click on it to make a Song Request and/or Dedication. If you don't see the song go ahead and submit it anyway. Sept. 5, 2015

A repetoire of sites and scenes from vibrant, historic Pittsburgh. Makes me proud to call it home and instills a longing to return for a visit. Enjoy __________________________________________________________________ April 23, 2015 I would not be remindful if I failed to mentioned that with your paid reservation for Saturday's main event you'll be able to tour the Heinz Historic Museum at "no charge" all day on Saturday (September 26th). Normally a $13 fee for seniors. Just informed the Admission Attendant that you will be attending the Peabody 50th High School Reunion that evening. The attendant is very use to this scenario. __________________________________________________________________ April 22, 2015 Another month closer to the 50th Reunion. Please note that a link (look to the left) for "Hotel Reservations" has been created. "Click" on it and look to the top of this page where you will presented with either the Hampton Inn ($219 a night) which is directly across the street from the Heinz Musuem, or the Westin Convention Center ($179 a night) which is approximately 5-6 blocks away from the Heinz History Center. Either place is great. The Westin was where the 40th Reunion was held for those that have long term memory. Click either yellow link for either hotel and a reservation page will appear below. Please visit the " 50th Sponsors" link (also to your immediate left). If you would like to add your support please send your donation to Ellen "Birnkrant" Kitay who's address is listed at the bottom of that page. We still haven't met our goal and request your assistance. Lonna "Holstein" Smith has arranged a tour of the former Peabody High School for our reunion on Saturday (Sept 26th) at 11:00AM. There will be a sign up form soon on this website, and a nonimal fee of $5.00 per person is requested in advance. But Father Time has a way of sneaking up on our generation to remind us that it has really been nearly 50 years since that memorable event. I'm happy to inform you that plans are smoothly coming together for the 50th Anniversary of the graduation of the Peabody High School Class of 1965. The event will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Senator John Heinz History Center (www.heinzhistorycenter.org), located on Smallman Street in Pittsburgh's Historic Strip District, home to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. The weekend will kick off with a casual Friday evening of reconnecting at The Blue Line Grille (www.bluelinegrille.com), a great bar and restaurant just across the street from the Consol Energy Center, (near the location of the old Civic Arena), where the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team plays. A block of 30 rooms has been reserved for our use at the Hampton Inn & Suites (1-412-288-4350) Hampton-Inn-and-Suites, directly across the street from the History Center. This hotel has the bonus of free guest parking. Information will be forthcoming on obtaining reservations for the weekend. The events for the remainder of the weekend will be shared when they have been confirmed, so please check back frequently to our class website, www.peabody65.org , for updates. Donations: As with any event of this significance we are seeking voluntary donations to help make it affordable to all Peabody friends and class members. Costs for insurance, security, photographer, disc jockey, decorations, bartenders, and other sundries are required. We have estimated our need of an additional $4,000 in contributions to enable us to keep the evening's cost at $75 per person. This is a once in a lifetime event, and an opportunity to show your appreciation to our teachers, classmates, and institution of learning where we all started on life's journey. Please consider sending your donation of any size, if possible, to: Ellen Birnkrant Kitay, Treasurer 2275 Elmhill Road Pittsburgh PA 15221 Checks should be made out to Peabody Class of 1965 Reunion. If you wish to consider directing your donation to underwrite a specific need, the following are applicable and your donation will be noted in the evening's program and on the website:
