Biographical Info: Following graduation, I gained employment at Pittsburgh Testing Laboratories until my induction
into the USAF in May of '66. I was trained as a refueling specialist and spent my enlistment in Alaska and Japan. I was
one of the fortunate ones to avoid Viet Nam. While on leave between Alaska and Japan, April of 1968, Bonnie and I married
and she traveled to Japan to join me. Once I received my discharge in '70, we returned to the 'Burg and I went back to work
at PTL, where I remained until a shake up in '98. I also tended bar at various clubs for about 27 years and still work at
it when able. I am now retired on disability since '01 due to a heart attack in '95 and a few other medical problems.
Bonnie and I have one daughter, Nicole, born in '76. She married in '98 and has since given us two beautiful grandsons,
Mikey ('99) and Tommy ('02), whom we get to see almost every day. Mikey has some developmental delays due to Prader-Willi
Syndrome, and Nicole and her husband rely on us a great deal for emotional support and care for both boys, so my ill
health and employment situation have some advantages.

Biographical Info: To me, our 50th reunion marks a rite of passage. Certainly not as momentous as a birth or a marriage, but it does
signify a new life stage or, at least, connotes getting older. Damn! I am not going without kicking or screaming!
Thanks to our 30th reunion, Elliot Talenfeld & I have been married almost 18 happy and fulfilling years. All 5 kids are
married and/or launched in pursuits that bring them satisfaction, though I miss my 2 daughters who are still living in the
DC area. I get back as much as I can to see them and my delicious 3-year-old grandson. And two of El's sons are in NY,
so we often combine visits. I've been VP and chief development officer for the last 9 years with a nonprofit dedicated to
affordable housing. I like the people and feel like I'm making a difference, so I'll probably keep on working until they
retire me! In between, we try to stay as young as we feel.

Biographical Info: Upon graduating from Peabody in 1965, I joined the U.S. Navy. I spent the next four years serving on three different ships before receiving my honorable discharge in 1969. I then started a job with Bell of Pennsylvania (now Verizon). My career lasted 31 years and I am now retired. The year 1976 was both a good and bad year for me. I fulfilled a life long dream by getting my private pilot's license. However, in October 1976, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I was married in 1972 and divorced in 1990. Biographical Info: After graduation I served in the Army as a Cook (troops got to eat) I then started working at Mine Safety Appliances Co.(in Homewood) where

Biographical Info: After graduation I spent 5 years in a 4 year college, worked for Dow Jones and Co. in New York, and in
1979 started my own inbound telemarketing company in Omaha NE. Three years later I had the privilege of selling it to American Express
Corp. In September, 1983, my wife and I started a mom and pop video store. Seven years and 50 stores later, we sold our great stores to

Biographical Info: After Peabody, I went to Point Park College in Pittsburgh. I then began
working for the Joseph Horne Co., (later Lazarus) as an assistant buyer and later a department manager. In the beginning, retail was exciting and fun, but after 25 years and many changes, I was ready for something different. Since 1999, I have worked for PNC Bank in the Consumer Lending Division. It has been a great company to work for with lots of opportunities.
I lived in Shadyside for many years, but am now back living in the house where I grew up in Highland Park. Life seems to get busier as I get older and there is never enough time for all the things I need or want to do. I still play the piano and enjoy bicycling when I can find the time. I rarely see any former classmates and it will be great to do so at the reunion.

Biographical Info: It has been a great 50 years since we all graduated. I can hardly wait to attend the 50th reunion.
I really wish that I had known about the earlier reunions.
I have been married for 43 years to the most wonderful person, Ceal, that I have ever known. She is an angel for living
with me all these years. We adopted a boy and a girl, Donald and Melinda. Melinda died about 6 years ago. No
grandchildren yet.
Twenty five years ago, we moved to Lancaster County from the Pittsburgh area for employment reasons. A total different
culture compared to Pittsburgh. In 1998, I finally went back to college and completed my degree.
My wife retired 2 years ago and I am preparing to sign my papers soon. Working for the State of Pennsylvania is different
than any other job I have ever had. We are hoping to be able to travel around the country once I retire.
My mother is still alive at the age of 92. She wishes she could attend the reunion, but because of her age, she is not able.
She was active in the football banquet organization and she enjoyed talking to the players.

Biographical Info: I actually only attended Peabody my senior year. I was a transfer from
Central Catholic High School. I was treated well by the senior class, even though I was the new kid on the block. I have many good memories of being at Peabody.
After high school, I spent four years in the Air Force, with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. I actually married in 1967 to my present wife, Barbara Ann Caruso. We had three children, 2 boys and a girl, Jeff, Michael and Shannon. And now we have 3 grandchildren, 2 girls and a boy, Bobbi, Ty and Joey.
We relocated to the suburbs of Philadelphia where I now own and operate a chain of beauty supply stores called "Beauty Depot". We have a second home in Cape May, New Jersey at the shore, and hope to retire there in the next few years.

Biographical Info: I live in Franklin Tennessee (a suburb of Nashville) with my second

Biographical Info: After leaving Peabody, I received a BA and did graduate work in English, married, moved to central
Pennsylvania and taught English until my children were born. My daughter, Jessica, lives in Princeton, NJ and teaches
at a private Friends school. My son, Jeremy, and his wife, Debbie, live in southern California where he is the key
accounts manager for a clothing manufacturing company and his wife is a fashion designer. He is also a co-owner of
Nocturnal, a skateboard and active sports shop in Philadelphia.
While my children were growing, I worked as a photojournalist focusing mainly on women's, children's and health issues,
and as a public relations professional. I then became president and CEO of the Carlisle, PA Chamber of Commerce, and
retired in 1997 from that job after almost 14 years. Upon leaving the Chamber, I worked from my home as the director of
business development and as a writer/editor for a publishing company located in the Philadelphia area. Since retiring from
that job, I have authored two books, Pennsylvania Bed & Breakfast Guide and Cookbook (Stackpole Books, 1999) and Creating Profitable Special Events (Outskirts Press, 2013) and have just completed my first novel, A Murder in the Museum, which is scheduled for publication in 2016. I am also a photographer, specializing in black and white and sepia-toned nature, agricultural and architectural photography.
I have been married since 1994 to my second husband Lyle, a retired banker. In January of this year (2015) we sold our home
in Pennsylvania and moved into our Victorian cottage, a former assistant lighthouse keeper's home, on Lake Ontario in Sodus
Point, NY. Efforts by the local historian and Cornell University have identified what is possibly a tunnel under our
property that was part of the Underground Railroad from the 1850s through the Civil War, when escaped slaves were
transported in schooners across Lake Ontario to Canada from Sodus Point.
When living in Pennsylvania, I served on a number of boards and committees, with a focus on women's and children's issues,
the arts, economic development, education and health and human services. Here at the lake I serve as a volunteer with the
historical society and our local library, and my husband and I support our local hospital; the Rochester Philharmonic
Orchestra; Rural Migrant Ministries, an organization that provides resources and advocacy for seasonal farm workers; Camp
Good Days, a camp for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses; plus other service-related organizations.
Spending time with cherished family and friends, reading (particularly mysteries), walking, cooking, gardening,
beach-combing, dancing and restoring our house make for a very full and happy life.

Biographical Info: Graduation from Peabody took me to Carnegie Institute of Technology
where I studied electrical engineering. Upon graduation I went to work in Pittsburgh at the Westinghouse Electric Research Labs. I also married Mary, whom I met and fell in love with the first day of school at CIT. While at Westinghouse, I completed a graduate program in biomedical engineering. However, by that time it was Carnegie Mellon University.
Mary and I left Pittsburgh in 1973 and went to suburban Chicago where I designed medical products. Our first daughter, Rachel, was born in 1976. By 1978 we were either frozen or baked, depending on the Chicago season, and we decided to return east to Connecticut where I continued to design medical products for the next 10 years. Amy, our second daughter, was born in 1981. Along the way, I was a co-founder of a small medical products company that supplies products to the neonatal intensive care and emergency medicine markets.
In 1988 I left that firm and began working in a small organization of Eastman Kodak that specializes in the design and development of products used by researchers in the fields of DAN and molecular biology research. I am still developing products for that company and excited by at we are embarking on the field of optical molecular imaging.
I didn't know anyone in high school who actually went skiing. A friend at CMU introduced me to it at Seven Springs and now I can report that I have been a member of the National Ski Patrol for 30 years. Each season begins with me wondering why I continue to do it, but the satisfaction of being able to help injured skiers is quite rewarding. I have also been singing with the New Haven Chorale for the last 8 years. I am still a tenor.
Upon graduation from Brandeis, Rachel taught for several years and married a college sweetheart. We are now blessed with a grandson, Jared. Amy completed a degree in vocal performance and music education at the Oberlin Conservatory and now attends Boston University in a graduate program for vocal performance.

and I came to St. Paul as VISTA volunteers to start and run a legal services program for low income elderly people, Senior Advocates, which is still operating as a branch of Southern MN Regional Legal Services. After eight years at SMRLS, I joined the faculty of William Mitchell College of Law for a few years.
I started on the staff of the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency (PHA) in 1985 and after 20 years there, I still find the work challenging, interesting and worthwhile. As the Housing Policy Director, I work closely with the Executive Director and other department directors to manage over 4200 units of HUD-subsidized public housing for families, elderly and disabled people, and 4000 Section 8 "housing choice vouchers". The St. Paul PHA is one of the top-rated housing authorities in the country, successfully providing safe, affordable, quality housing to over 20,000 low income residents of St. Paul. Our public housing units are in good condition and consistently 99% occupied, the rent write-off is less than 1% annually, and the crime rates in public housing communities are lower than the citywide average (which is also low). Noreen (Rosen, Peabody '70), my true love, soul mate and best friend, and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in April. We have 2 wonderful sons, Brad (27) and Drew (24). Education for me was in Pittsburgh - Engineering at Pitt and Law School at Duquesne. After a year as assistant to the Chairman (a very high class "go fer") of Strick Corporation in Philadelphia, I moved back to Pittsburgh, met Noreen and began a career in Intellectual Property Law (Westinghouse). I have remained professionally in that field and managed the IP Law Department of several large corporations which has taken our family from Pittsburgh (Joy Manufacturing), to Milwaukee (Johnson Controls), and back to Pittsburgh (Alcoa). In 2003 Noreen and I moved to Minneapolis where I practice for Cargill Corporation, now (joyously) without the obligations of management. Life has allowed me to remain an eternal optimist (I still have most of my hair!). I have continually found myself drawn closer and closer to the spiritual side of life, and have found great peace through religion and continuous learning. Biographical Info: After high school, I attended Point Park Junior College and the University
of Miami, respectively. I graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Education/Theater in 1971. I returned to Pittsburgh and did substitute teaching, worked for the State of Pennsylvania and helped my father run and eventually liquidate his lamp company, Lido Lamps, when he became unable to do so on his own. At that time my parents decided to retire to Florida and I decided to help them with their journey and move to Florida along with them. In Florida, I worked for the State of Florida for 20 years. At first, I was employed by the Welfare and Food Stamp Office and then worked for Child Support for 15 years, helping children get their due. After losing both my parents and husband, I decided to move from Florida to different scenery and far less instant memories. Biographical Info:A quick history: I spent one year at Slippery Rock State College, then joined the Air Force for 4 years.
(One of my little items was supporting the Man on the Moon July 20, 1969. A small role, but it helped.) I was discharged in October,
1970. I started at Electronic Data Systems Incorporated (EDS) and worked there for 35 years. I had various technical and managerial
positions dealing with functional responsibilities for regional datacenter operations. I worked in other areas of EDS, but will save

Biographical Info: Following Peabody graduation, I spent 4 undergraduate years at Yale,
followed by 4 in medical school at Pitt, before moving to the West Coast, for internship and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at LA County/USC Medical Center.
Preferring to escape the density, traffic and effort of life in Los Angeles, I settled in coastal San Luis Obispo, California, where happily I have practiced medicine, married (then divorced), began a family (three children including a 13 and two 10-year olds), and enjoyed a continuum of new undertakings since 1977.
Since 1998 I have commuted weekly from San Luis Obispo to Scottsdale, Arizona to parent my children. Now working part-time, I have stayed active in regional medical politics, local health care boards, updating my medical/surgical competency and skills, a continuum of on-line educational courses of personal interest, as well as focused personal efforts to stay fit by working out, mountain biking, golfing, and heli-skiing.

Biographical Info: Since our 40th reunion, I retired in 2008 from my job as a director of child welfare services in
Alameda County. I have worked ever since as a hearing officer for 3 California counties, conducting specialized child
welfare due process hearings. In between, I have taken up calligraphy which I adore, and I still sing in a rock and
roll band called Soft Touch, which has been together for almost 35 years. I also am studying fiddle and am in a country
band called The Saddle Sores. Both bands perform locally a couple of times a year.
I now have 7 grand-children who are my true band of angels. My husband and I love to "grand-parent", cruise
(he's a real cruise-a-holic), go dancing a few nights a week, support live music from classical to reggae, and
are enjoying our golden years before we turn into rust. I am in a wonderful book club and continue to try to keep
my brain cells charged up as we face our 70's. All in all, I feel very blessed and am trying to pay it forward
so that our grandkids inherit a world worth living in!

My definition of retirement: Doing the same thing I've always done but no longer being forced to deal with the a**holes.
After years as first a photo-optical engineer, then a space salesman, and then a magazine and website publisher,
I've now cycled back to what I originally wanted to do while in high school and have started a business as a portrait
photographer specializing in Boy Scouts who have recently earned their Eagle rank and in senior citizens. Definitely
some of the most fulfilling work I've done in the past 50 years.
I also do a large amount of volunteer work for the Boy Scouts, including publisher of Jamboree Today and chair of the Dallas
Jewish Committee on Scouting. For this I've received a number of Scouting awards including the Silver Beaver. Additionally,
I do a lot of volunteer work with my temple's Brotherhood, having been its president. I was the founder of the annual Shofar
Factory, co-chair of Mitzvah Cooking and Party Expo, and generally responsible for most of the communications of the organization.

Returned to PHS in 1980 as a teacher of Instrumental Music and Band/Orchestra director, replacing my former teacher and mentor Mr. John Zurosky. The opportunity to go back to teach at PHS was a dream come true. Mr. Frey, Mr. Levy, Mr. Zaharewicz, Ms. Price, and others were now my colleagues, and Mr. Leonard Kubiak, affectionately known as ̉The BossÓ was Principal of PHS at that time. In 1965, Mr. Kubiak was our Activities Director. In addition to teaching, I was an assistant to Head Coach Jim Russell (PHS Class of 66) for the girls' basketball team. I taught at PHS for 6 years.
During the time I was a classroom teacher, I continued to play clarinet in several music groups in the tri-state area, officiate high school/college basketball, and umpire baseball/softball games in and around Pittsburgh. As well, I founded the Pittsburgh Jewish Community Center's Intergenerational Symphony Orchestra. Comprised of members age 6 to 98, the orchestra performed at Churches, Synagogues, and Senior Care Facilities in the area.
Left PHS to enter the wide world of school administration and served as supervisor of instrumental music for the Pittsburgh Public School District for 3 years. My responsibilities included organizing and conducting the All-City Orchestra and Band, and Directing the Saturday, Center for Musically Talented program.
Moved into the area of building administration and worked as a vice-principal in Pittsburgh a couple of years before being selected as high school principal in the Greater Johnstown School District.
Served as Principal of Johnstown HS for 7 years, before returning to the Pittsburgh area and working as a principal in the Duquesne City and Franklin Regional school districts. As principal of Johnstown HS, I had an opportunity to become a certified facilitator for Stephen Covey's, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
Took advantage of a PA early retirement incentive and started teaching at the Community College of Allegheny County
Relocated to Phoenix Arizona and re-entered school administration where I served as a charter high school principal for
nine years. For six of the nine years, I was HS principal of Phoenix College Preparatory Academy. In a partnership with the College,
I designed an "Early College, High School" program where students had the opportunity to take college classes and earn college credit
beginning in ninth-grade. I'm proud of the fact that several students earned enough college credits to graduate with an Associate's
Degree at the same time they were graduating from high school.
Retired from building level administration in Arizona
As if I didn't have enough of being in school as a student, teacher, and administrator, I am currently working in Education Consulting, mentoring principals in Phoenix and Tucson AZ as they strive to meet the challenges inherent to school administration. I also continue to facilitate Covey's Seven Habits workshops as part of school improvement programs.
My 45+ year career in public education provided an opportunity to work, in Pittsburgh and Phoenix, with many fine students and families from very diverse backgrounds. I still connect with former students, and it's rewarding to see that they are happy, productive, contributing members of their community.

Biographical Info: Graduated IUP, 1969; taught school at Masontown High School in WV and the next year at St. Raphael Elementary School in Morningside. Decided Vietnam had to be better than teaching and quit teaching and gave up my deferment and luckily avoided the draft. Began working with my father at a restaurant he started; after ten years I bought him out and he retired. I lasted 10 more miserable years and the company went bankrupt. One of the best things ever to happen to me.
Went to Pitt and took 24 accounting credits to take the CPA exam which I passed on the first try (yes!). Worked 8 years at two CPA firms, got a MS in Taxation from Duquesne, and in 1998 started my own firm. Now have 2 employees and love my new career.
I married for sex and a pretty girl on my arm (do my children get to read this stuff?). Have 2 kids, Lori, 25 just graduated with a MS in Psychology from Chatham and Ben 27, who I think is a gigolo. Eventually realized I couldn't stay in that environment (married to Nadine (formerly Goldberg) Snyder, Peabody Class of '68) and I am in the process of moving on. Today I am having the time of my life.

Biographical Info: Wow! How do you put 40 years into one paragraph?!?! I graduated from
Clarion University in 1969 with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then, I have taught in Shaler, Upper St. Clair, and State College (we lived there for 12 years). 1969 was also the year I married my husband, of almost 36 years, Ralph Papa (Peabody '64).
Throughout the years, I have been involved in numerous community and school activities, various boards, and continuous volunteer work. I am currently on the Board of Directors of Kids Voice and the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. Our pride and joy is our daughter Jami, who is currently in Washington DC with the State Department. She is a Diplomat with the Foreign Service and studying Chinese for her first post in Beijing. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends at the Peabody '65 Reunion.

Biographical Info: After graduating from Cornell, I moved back to Pittsburgh and worked at
the Learning Research and Development Center at Pitt for 10 years, doing beginning reading curriculum development. Married Scott McCaslin in 1971 and thought we were in Pittsburgh to stay.
Scott's employer, Gulf Oil thought otherwise and transferred him to Houston for six years, and then Chevron (which had bought Gulf) transferred him again to San Francisco. I reinvented my career in the course of each transfer and have wound up as a development officer - developing relationships and fundraising for various nonprofits, including the Graduate Theological Union, National Brain Tumor Foundation and currently, Jewish Family and Children's Services in San Francisco.
Scott and I have two children, Hope 25 (in grad school at UC Davis studying wastewater remediation) and Dan 24 (a UC San Diego graduate now working for the transportation system there trying to make the buses and trolleys run on time). Neither seems particularly eager to produce grandchildren for us, but we'll give them each another 10 years or so before we start nagging. In the meantime, we shower affection on our Australian Shepherd.
A while back, Scott and I discovered Cayucos, a tiny laid-back beach town on the Central California coast, where we plan to retire. In preparation, we're spending as much time there as we possibly can while still working full time.
I won't be able to attend the reunion, but wish everyone a joyous time of reconnection. I made many, many trips back to Pittsburgh during my mother's long decline and retain a special fondness for my hometown and high school friends. Scott and I welcome visitors to the West Coast, both at our home in San Leandro and about 3½ hours south in Cayucos.

years of my life. Carole Berkowitz Kauffman and I reconnected soon after the 30th reunion and have been married almost

neighborhood. I still work part time as a municipal court judge. And I'm still trying to learn how to sing (with this

Biographical Info: I married my high school sweetheart, John, in December 1965; we'll
celebrate 40 years this December. However, we went "steady" since my freshman year - so I'm going to suggest that at 43 years, we hold the title of the L O N G E S T couple relationship in the Class of 1965! Any challengers?
While John served in Viet Nam, I stayed home and had our first daughter, Kelly, who is now 38. Six years later we had Kimberly, now 32.
In 1976 we moved to Valparaiso, IN, a nice, small town about 40 miles from Chicago, known for Valparaiso University and Orville Redenbacher. John is a project manager in a burb of Chicago.
Being a late bloomer, I went back to college in 1986. I earned my BS in business from Indiana University (with highest distinction). In 1992, I passed the CPA Exam and worked as the controller for a local grocery store chain for several years.
Kelly Konrad Mason resides in Pittsburgh with husband and our three oldest grandkids, ages 10, 13, and 15. She is VP of Advertising and Marketing for "DoYouKnowAGood.Com". They just went public this July. Kimberly resides in Valparaiso, and is the Chairperson of her Department at Sawyer College.

We have been married for 45 years and went "back to the land" in 1971. Max worked in medicine, not in her chosen field of nursing, but as the administrator of an orthopaedic surgery practice for 20 years before retiring in 2008, while maintaining a sideline grantwriting and non-profit consulting business. She additionally works part time at the Somerset Daily American newspaper as an editorial assistant, proofreader and newsroom computer specialist. Arthur is a Senior Magisterial District Judge and works part time, having retired after 18 years on the bench at District Court 16-3-03, Somerset, PA. We have no children but we love our German shepherds, our cats and our macaws like kids. Our entire farm is 100% solar powered (wind and photovoltaics) and was the first solar powered farm in Pennsylvania to co-generate on the Penelec grid back in 1978. Our farmhouse, built in 1870, is a healing haven and gathering place for friends, family and guests. Biographical Info: After graduating from Peabody High School, I went to work for Federated Investors, Inc. I worked for them for eight years. During that time, I met and married my husband Ken. When I left Federated, I started a new lifestyle, which has been very enriching and enjoyable as a community service volunteer in addition to being a full time homemaker. My experiences during that time have been both varied and multifaceted. Community service has expanded my people skills, broadened my interests and developed skills in fund raising, membership cultivation, computer graphics, telephone and personal contacts, and the ability for public speaking in front of large audiences. During this time I have completed two organization presidencies, one of which awards $10,000 in music scholarships yearly to talented conservatory students. The other was leading a tennis organization with a membership of 900 at that time. I have been an editor of a cookbook, "Culinary Compositions", which sold over 2,000 copies with the proceeds given to the Scholarship Fund of the Keynotes organization of Music for Mt. Lebanon. During the time that I was involved with the Pittsburgh Symphony Association, I trained and scheduled the Heinz Hall tour guides, and also personally led tours of the Hall. Currently, I am serving my thirteenth year as the Executive Secretary of Music for Mt. Lebanon, an organization that has been in existence for sixty years serving the South Hills community with a musical concert series for 1,600 subscribers. Up until August, 2004, I worked for ten years as a part-time sales associate in one of my friend's shops located in the Mt. Lebanon Galleria Mall. My husband and I also created a website for the store.
Ken and I have been married since June of 1970. We have no children, but have raised and adored our animals through the years. For the past thirty-three years we have lived in Mt. Lebanon after moving from our honeymoon apartment in Monroeville. Ken is now retired and we have been spending half of our year touring the country with our dog and cat in our travel trailer enjoying the good life.

Biographical Info: Tom Venable and his wife Chris retired in 2004 and moved to Homosassa,
FL, on the gulf coast (about an hour north of Tampa). The Florida "Nature Coast" region on the Gulf of Mexico is where they live, golf and swim with the manatees. They play golf year round, sing, perform in theater and are starting to take up gulf coast fishing.
The last 25 years of Tom's career were in the electro-optics field as a sales engineer and marketing manager. He worked in the Cincinnati, Ohio area for the last 18 years where he was marketing manager for a manufacturer of military infrared thermal imaging cameras and detectors.
In Cincinnati, he returned to singing after a 10 year hiatus from singing in Pittsburgh with the Mendelssohn Choir. But not classical music, this time it was a barbershop chorus and quartet a capella music. A bunch of volunteer work and winning chorus championships in barbershop rounded out the important things. In Florida, he is helping a small local BS chorus to improve its singing.
Chris retired from teaching after a 30 year career. Her last decade was teaching gifted 5 and 6 graders and Tom. She also had 30 great years in community theater, and a decade of being the lighting director for Tom's BS chorus. When Chris qualified to retire in June 2004, they up and moved to Florida within a week (preceded by four years of retirement planning).

After the experience of home-schooling, which was both rewarding and challenging, I looked into enrolling my children in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. I found the Magnet Schools to be an excellent alternative to private schooling, and subsequently enrolled all 4 of my children in the programs. I was active in the Parent-Teacher associations and was introduced to Dr. Richard Wallace, Superintendent of Pittsburgh Public Schools. I worked for Dr. Wallace from 1985 - 1989 representing the International Studies Academy at Schenley High School. Three of my children graduated from Schenley, but one son, Daniel, chose to go to Peabody, which was nice for me.
Present: When our youngest daughter was a senior in high school, my husband and I adopted an infant son. We are challenged every day to be active and motivated. When most of our friends are traveling the world and retiring to warmer climates, we are once again looking into schools for the first grade.…..and saving for yet one more college education!!

In the past 50 years I have been poor, been rich, and poor but, not as poor as when I attend Peabody. I had one (1) pair of wool
socks from Mansfields and two (2) skirts and perhaps once a year I got a dress from Robert Hall or Sears. Thanks to my Clothing
teacher I learned to sew and had another skirt and top. I saved my lunch money and instead of buying lunch checks I saved for a
pair of petal pushers and a straw purse.
I was a shopaholic and I am a hoarder trying to get cured.
I was retired in 2010 and thanks to EEOC I received an extra 2 years. Illness forced my Husband to retire.
I feel fortunate to have what I have and how I am doing considering I was born in a Displaced Persons Camp to Parents that lost
their entire families and, between them, their four (4) sons. I taught my Parents English and the schools didn't have ESL for Yiddish
speakers nor did they know how to handle Holocaust Survivors as it was so fresh. Yes fellow Highlanders you went to school
especially those from Rogers and Fulton with refugees born in displaced prisons camps. You might of made fun and didn't think we
fit in with our Parents and their accents and European ways.
This is all in the past and the future is my wonderful children and their spouses and children. I won't brag about them as Mother
(that woman that was 5 steps from the ovens) would say good merchandise speaks for itself, bad merchandise has to be sold. I will say
that my Daughter lives in Evanston, Il, my Son in N.E. Philly and my youngest Daughter in the Boston area. G-d has been kind enough
to give us 4 wonderful Grandsons so far.
We do not travel nor spend winters in the tropics or summers by the shore. We did a lot of traveling with our children in our rich days
and now thanks to books, TV, and pictures posted on facebook we travel without the hassle of airports.
Please teach your Children and Grandchildren that those people who were born in DP Camps that you might not have liked. It was because
we were different and you didn't understand.

Biographical Info: Maxine (Mickie) Weiner Marcus has come a long way from Pittsburgh with
several interesting stops along the way. After Penn State, I married a college professor and was whisked away to the Deep South, where I taught high school English in Alabama (Auburn), and Mississippi (Ole Miss). This is where they say "y'all" instead of the Pittsburgh "Yinz").
After getting a Masters Degree in Theater, I moved to Miami Florida, where I taught drama and acted in community theatre. My favorite role was "Golda" in Fiddler on the Roof", so I'm a sucker for weddings, family, and sunrises and sunsets.
When my husband died at 46 of a preventable heart attack, I decided to help people live longer by becoming a health educator. I moved to California, obtained a Master of Public Health Degree at UCLA, and worked for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and currently the Orange County Office on Aging. Needless to say, I exercise, eat right (except at parties and reunions), don't smoke, and nag my current husband, Alan, and 400,000 other Orange County seniors, to do the same.
I live with hubby, dog Kiddo, many tropical fish, and hummingbird patio residents in Anaheim, CA, across the street from Disneyland (literally), the "Happiest Place on Earth". I anticipate being a grandma within the year, though I never went through morning sickness, or labor.
My passion is playing competitive Scrabble in clubs and tournaments. I'm bringing my game and official dictionary, and will take on anyone in the Peabody '65 class as long as I can use all the official words, including two-letter words like Xu and KA, and every imaginary swear word or ethnic slur. In competitive playing, you don't need to know how to use them in a sentence.
Last year, I reunited with dear Peabody '65 friends, Lonna Holstein Smith and Ellen Sweeny McCaslin. We had a ball reminiscing about our youth and the fascinating years between. I'm looking forward to more of the same at the reunion. See yinz in September!

Biographical Info: After graduating from Duquesne University, I joined a national CPA firm in Pittsburgh, then in 1975 transferred to our Cleveland office.
In 1990, my partners and I spun off and formed Howard, Wershbale & Co. CPAs & Advisors (hwco.com). And, in 1999 formed our Wealth Management affiliate,
HW Financial Advisors (hwfa.com). I retired as CEO in 2007 and began spending more & more time in Arizona - the weather and roads are way better for motorcyling!

Biographical Info: I graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in mathematics and have an MBA from Duquesne University.
My husband and I just celebrated our 45th anniversary. We moved to Northern Virginia in 1974 and downsized to a condo in 2007.
Elliot is retired, but spends considerable time on condo business as the Treasurer. I have worked at Aiken and Company, a CPA firm
for the last 15 years. I am working very hard to retire - or at least cut back significantly so that ̉tax seasonÓ is a thing of
the past. My good friend, Karen Weiss Kaufman, was a 1969 Peabody grad and my brother Ken Wiseman and his family (2 daughters and 1 son)
live nearby in Chevy Chase, MD. Our daughter, Elena, is a CPA and is the Senior Director for Finance and Accounting at the American
College of Radiology. She lives in Herndon, Virginia with our grandchildren. As a single parent, her life is very busy and,
consequently, we see a lot of our grandchildren - a real pleasure for us. Our daughter, Rachel, received a PhD business economics
from Harvard University. She is a Senior Vice-President of Strategy and Sales at CafeMom in New York City. Her specialty is data
analytics. We are fortunate to spend time with both our daughters and our grandchildren.

Biographical Info: I have been married for 45 years. I met my husband while working for
Singer, Dean and Scribner stock brokerage firm, which later merged and
became Butcher-Singer Brokerage Firm. I quit working when my first child
was born in 1971. I was a stay at home mom for 21 years. I went back to work at age 45 when I became secretary of St. Louise
de Marillac School in Upper St. Clair, PA. I worked there for 10 years and took an early retirement.
I have been retired for 12 years. My husband retired on January 1, 2005 after working 36 years for Alcoa in their
International Tax Department. We plan to divide our time between our home in Bethel Park and our condo in Myrtle Beach, SC.
We also hope to continue doing some traveling.

Biographical Info: I have two kids, my son Noah, and my daughter Elise. I also have a two
year old granddaughter named Chloe. She is my son's daughter. He is a paramedic and my daughter is a budding real estate agent.
I have been working and as an IT programmer, analyst, manager, and project manager since 1977. I am on hiatus right now. I graduated from CMU in May, 1974. Before I graduated, I took a 5 year leave from college and moved to California. I lived in the Haight Asbury for a couple of years and then in and around the Bay Area for the rest of the time. I was a certified hippie from the Haight. I met my first husband out there. He is from Miami which is why we moved there after I finished at CMU (BS in Math).
I worked and taught math in high school for a couple of years in Miami, and then worked for Ryder (truck company) in Miami for 17 years. I left there a senior manager in the IT department. I met and married my second husband while working there. He is a PC technician. We decided that the city had outgrown itself and moved to Winter Park in 1996 (part of the greater Orlando metro area). I have been here ever since. I have been working for various consulting companies since I got here, but I have been working on the same AT&T account during most of that time. My kids moved here too.
The timing is all very bad as far as coming to the reunion, so please let anyone who asks (if anyone asks) that I wish I could be there.

Biographical Info: After graduation I studied Fine Art at Carnegie Mellon and commercial art
at Ivy School of Art. I got a job at Peerless Wallpaper and Paint Co. I got fired from that job for being late all the time, but I met Steve who introduced me to Margo Lovelace. She ran a Marionette Theater on Ellsworth Avenue. I volunteered for one show and stayed for 10 years. I traveled to every elementary school in Pittsburgh and did puppet shows for the children. Then we traveled around the US and we even went to a Puppeteers convention in Europe. I also did some work for Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. I worked for my brother at his Go-Go Bar, "The Electric Banana". Now he has a great Italian restaurant on Bigelow Blvd called "Zarra's". I met my husband in 1979. We were both in children's theater working at the museum. We fell in love and ended up living in Norton, Vermont at Earth Peoples Park. We lived in a cabin in the woods with no electric or running water for one year. That winter, the temp got down to
-40. My son was born May 17, 1981. We moved out when he was six months old to a house on 25 acres. We are still here 24 years later. I have a webpage, Pamdemonium Puppets that I get jobs making marionette and hand puppets. I perform my Marionette Circus, I paint, I garden, I worked on a movie "The Spitfire Grill", I paint on sap buckets, I worked at the local Correctional Facility teaching painting to inmates. I like stained glass, throwing pots and just anything that has to do with ART. We have bonfires every night in the summer. The fall colors take my breath away. Winter is like living in a snow globe. And just when you think it will never come, it's Spring and the sap is running. See you all in September.

Biographical Info: After graduating in 1966, I attended Penn State University and received
my degree in elementary and special education. I met my husband Richard Harris (Allderdice 1966) in 1968 and we married in 1971. While he was in medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, I worked as a special education teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. I received a Master's Degree from Duquesne University during that time. I left teaching and went to the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh in 1978 and received a Master's Degree in Public Health. In March of 1980 we adopted our son. Three months later I was pregnant and our daughter was born in March of 1981. In June of 1983, I gave birth to our second son. Those years were busy and happy ones. In 1989, I finally began working in Public Health and got the job that I hold to this day. I am a clinical epidemiologist. I run a research project with heart and lung transplant recipients and their primary caregivers. Th work is very rewarding and very flexible so my job has allowed me to raise my kids and also travel extensively with my husband.
In May of 2001, my husband died very suddenly and unexpectedly. My life has changed very dramatically since then. I have spent a lot of time "re-defining" myself. I am no longer a 'doctor's wife' and all that that entails. I have learned so much about myself, my children, my parents and in-laws over the last four years. I have made a lot of major life decisions that I never would have imagined I would have made just a few short years ago. I have sold my big house and bought a lovely new town house. I have learned to travel on my own and have also changed my priorities. I do a lot of community organizational work and volunteer work. The work gives me great pleasure. My two youngest children have each spent a year in Israel over the last two years so I have traveled back and forth to Israel many times and hope to continue to go again and again.
I have been very fortunate to have wonderful and supportive friends and family. Lonna Holstein Smith and I have remained friends over all these years and thus, I find myself wanting to participate in your class reunion. I can't wait to see so many of you who were part of my Peabody days.

Biographical Info: My name is Suzanne Murphy. I would have been a 1965 Peabody
graduate but after my sophomore year, I enrolled in a medical profile with Presby Hospital. After the 12 week course, I was offered a job to continue on at Presby. Naturally I jumped on it. After 6 years in the IC Unit, I moved to a position at West Penn Hospital. Somewhere along the way I decided to start my own business, a "cleaning service" which became pretty profitable. In January, 1983, I was fortunate enough to be in the position to adopt a newborn baby girl at the 4th day of her little life. I often say that my own life began at that time. Her name is Jamie Lee Murphy and she resides in Pittsburgh. I have been doubly blessed because she and her husband have given me a beautiful granddaughter. I picked up the art of stained glass and started selling windows and other glass items, which I hand cut and leaded. I have moved to Florida in the past year and a half, where I am retired. And, for the very first time in my life, I will be getting married on 2/20/05. So, having been single all of these years has enabled me to "get" a baby, raise a baby, be a mother, etc., before selecting a husband. I feel as if it is time for me to do so now because I am too damn old and worn out to be out there in the single world any longer. I have got a really good man, too. For a while there I was reading the death notices, waiting for someone's wife to pass away in order to get a good man. Again, I am blessed. I currently live on the Gulf Coast of Florida, pretty near Tampa. My new name will be Suzanne Murphy Desport. Also, does anybody know where Carol Hennibush is? I really had such a soft spot in my heart for her.

Biographical Info: My husband and I have our own corporation and deal with Daily Juice products in Pittsburgh. We collect cars from the late 50's and 60's and even have had several of them in movies!! While I have never really "worked", I have had some interesting part-time positions helping out friends where I was fortunate to meet some very extraordinary people, including 1 Chief Justice on the US Supreme Court. We are behind the scenes politicos, but our greatest achievement is our dedication to seriously ill children and their families.
